| Bloggy Boot Camp - You never forget your first! |
I have been looking at and lurking around BloggyCon since before I started going to any conferences and looked into it last year but thought Ohio was a bit far. Turns out it will only be a little over 4 hours of a drive, plus with the peer pressure from @AskDocG (also going to the conference, go follow her, she's awesome!) who has become a close friend over the last year and her offer to room with me, I couldn't turn it down this year. This will definitely be a bigger venue than I'm used to being a three day event and all. I'm excited and nervous all at the same time, even after attending the ones I already have.
I usually feel out of place at these things to begin with, even after going to a few - I think because I'm selling myself and not a product or niche, plus I'm much more socially awkward in person. Sure I'm considered a mom blogger because I'm a mom; my theme is coffee because I love it and live it, but I write about all different things on the spectrum including parenting (or lack thereof), travel and a few social media tips and tricks I learned the hard way along the way. I think it would be easier if I was actually selling a product - it's not as easy to sell yourself, too easy to down play. I've never been a review/giveaway blogger and the thought of sponsors scares me a little because to me, that means rules that I've never been good at following. I am the most consistent at being inconsistent, especially on this blog. Love it or leave it, it's who I am and I think I like taking summers off...
If you are not familiar with BloggyCon, please check the link for all the details. It is a three day conference full of information and helpful tips about blogging and making connections. It's held in Cincinnati, Ohio this year on September 27 - 29 and I would LOVE to meet you if you are going. If you're not, but thinking about it, keep an eye on the #BloggyCon hashtag on twitter where they have parties every other week and give away a full conference pass!

*This is my first time ever hosting a link up so I hope it goes off without a hitch! I'm leaving it up until the conference starts so you'll have until then to link up - the more the merrier!!

I wish I could go to BloggyCon and meet you this year, but it's just not possible. Funds aren't available and time away isn't possible, but I hope to attend one year (maybe next year) and would love to meet you :) Have fun!! Can't wait to read your post about your first BloggyCon experience!
I'll be there and am eager to meet you. You can sit with me!!

I'm excited to meet you! Thank you for hosting this link up. :) My name is Liz and I live in Cincinnati. I grew up east of here but then have lived all over the state - since may not be familiar with Ohio - I have lived up to about 3-4 hours from where I currently live but was still in the same state. My blog is http://www.WomanlyWoman.com and I do all the sponsorship business type stuff on my blog - I enjoy working with brands and doing affiliate marketing. But I am also very inconsistent. I basically write about whatever I am thinking about some days and then other days I host giveaways for a company. I look forward to meeting you!
Hey another blog buddy and neighbor of mine will be there in September. We live in Chicago too. I wish I had known about the other conferences! Looking forward to seeing you there in 'Nati!
This was a wonderful idea. My name is Amiyrah and this will be my 2nd BloggyCon. Please check out my link above to my about me page, and be sure to click on the video! See you in September!
What a great idea! Linky link-up prior to the conference! Looks like a few newbies have commented as well as some Alumni from last year. So looking forward to meeting you! I'm Sherry, aka City Chic on a Farm, and the co-host of BloggyCon. I moved from the burbs of Cincy to a small town in Indiana. I live on a farm with hubby and 3 sons. Loving the agricultire journey we are on. So much to learn! I met Tiffany shortly after blogging when I signed onto BloggyMoms. Tiffany was floored that there was another blogger in her small town. We met up, and I offered to help her with her conference. The rest is history! It's been an honor for us to bring women together from the social media world to learn, laugh, and create lasting connections. Thanks again for being a part of BloggyCon and I sincerely can't wait to meet you!
Thanks Cassandra - I hope to meet everyone in person one day. If you do get to one, let me know!
Thanks Kim! I can't wait to meet you - September will be here before we know it!
Hi Liz! Going over to check out your blog now!
Nice Keesha! I'm in NWI about an hour south of the city - if you follow LSD (41) all the way south to no man's land you'll find me. Can't wait for September!
Hi Amiyrah! Loved your video, agree with the silly part for sure - and I've heard about your shoes! Can't wait to meet you!
That's a great story! I'm from small town Indiana too - can't wait to meet you!
Hey Amy - Thanks for hosting a link up! I look forward to meeting you at the conference and please know that this was a GREAT time last year :) No worries - it was such a supportive and welcoming group all around. I was a little nervous last year as I didn't feel like I fit into any particular "niche" of blogging, but the great thing was that I picked up SO much great information that could be used regardless of my "specialty" :) See you in September!
Thanks for having a fabulous Link up! Can't wait to meet you in person
Can't wait for the conference!! It will be my first time and I'm super excited for this!! :)
I am going to my first blog conference, ShesConnected, here in Canada this October. I am thrilled at the prospect of a grand adventure......and scared nigh to death because I Just Have No Clue. And I only know 1 person who is also attending. I also don't do reviews/giveaways....I want to WRITE. but will that offend the reviews/giveaways??? yikes. Your linky is a great idea for connecting with more people prior to the conference.
I couldn't figure out how to add my Twitter, I'm @itscheapash . Hope to see you there!
Thankfully I am local (within 30 minutes).... this will be my first convention. So exited!
You need to join us at our next Brandcation. Actually we might have a ticket left hint hint. It's in TN in October. 4-7. Jury is still out for me on Blogher. I went in 2009 when it was in Chicago.
Come look me for me! I have never been and I am so nervous about being with a bunch of people and not knowing anyone! LOL!
Whew! Made it! :-D
Thanks for linking up Sara - I look forward to meeting another blogger I can visit because I know where she lives! I have a feeling this will be the start to a wonderful thing - see you at the end of the month!
Hi Angie! I'm glad you stopped by - I can't wait to see you and learn more
Emily you will love it! You will always remember your first and this will be a goodie - can't wait to meet you!
Good for you! You will do great having no clue you will be more open than if you had one..
Might be an idea for you to do a linky before yours too - it's been great so far. I don't do much for giveaways either, I could count them on one hand and that's okay..I hope to get to a conference you are at sometime, or you know if you come to Chicago I will meet you!
I got you! Looking forward to finding out how easy cheap really is - thanks for linking up!
YAY Sherryl - I have been staying local with the ones I've been to so far...this is the first one out of state. I think you'll find this was a great pick for your first!
hmmm..I don't know if I could get away again so soon but I will look into it.
What was your impression of BH? You're not all hyped to go again if the jury is still out...
Julia I will have coffee in hand and be on the lookout! Don't be nervous, you will find you have more in common with the people in the room than you ever have - promise
So happy for you! And I must say it's about time...when's our coffee date?
Great idea!!
Sorry to take so long to reply! I think I need to see about turning on my comment reply emails. LOL
Yes...Honestly, now I just have to figure out a way to get down there. One way or another, I'll either brew it up with you this month or next summer in Chicago! :-D
Woo hoo! I'm so beyond excited to be going back to BloggyCon! Hubby and I are ready, he's going sightseeing while I learn, we try to make a small holiday of the trip as we drive from Toronto. Can't wait to see everyone again!!!!
