Saturday Shorts - The Boy Can Play

This is from a recent Boyscout meeting - he was meeting his musical objective and did 4 songs, Jingle Bells being the only with both hands.  This is one of the reasons there is music in our house every single day..I love it that way!

It was asked if he take requests - someone suggested Beethoven's 5th Symphony.  His response, "I don't know that Beethoven but I know this one.." , then he busted out the first page of Fur Elise by memory.  Melody only but still he has great responses..

Happy Weekend!

That was good! My daughter started piano lesson in 2nd grade took it all the way till 6 grade now she uses you tube to help teacher her when she needs help on a song. Does he take lessons if not you might want to consider he has talent, = )

Thanks - I have been giving him lessons and he would rather have me just show him how to play than have to read the notes. He is starting to get it with the lines and spaces, learning at a pretty rapid pace..

That's awesome! Way better than me playing taps on the harmonica. I always thought that my son was going to be a musician then he started drawing... One art form to the other.

It's always better the second time around. It's the one consistent constant for as long as he can remember.. I can't encourage the arts enough!

That's awesome! I played piano for many years and still love it. I hope to teach my girls someday. :)

This is so awesome! I love it when kids play music! 3 of my 4 are in lessons (guitar, piano, mandolin!) and I just love hearing them practice!
Tell your little dude that we think he sounds AWESOME and to keep practicing!!!
Thanks for linking this up for #SundayFunday! oxox

Even just teaching them the basics makes it easier when they do it for music classes..I hope you still play - it's always something that I don't do often enough

His first concert in front of people other than family - it's always better the second time you play it! I really hope it's something he excels in, he seems to have a knack for it already - I love having music in the house too!

Thanks Megan - he's getting the basics down and I think he has a knack, I don't think he will have a problem keeping it up!
