Memories Captured

My son has his first holiday concert this week for a singing group he actually had to try out for.  For this concert and their town tour, he needed to have black pants that weren't jeans and black shoes to go with the Nifty Notes logo shirt. I decided that this was going to be Dad's job - I think he did pretty well for someone who was very reluctant..

He's pretty serious
He loves this musical outlet and brings songs home some of which he can play on the piano.  He's really big into Legos and making origami Star Wars guys including Darth Paper.  He is a good Boy Scout, he's our recycler and I'm pretty sure he's the best person he knows..

My daughter on the other hand is much less serious and loves to make silly faces most of the time. She has been doing it so much lately that I have told her to stop before her face gets stuck that way...and she has to grow into her big girl teeth. She sings a lot but only tries to carry a tune - she seems more about the cartwheels anyway so maybe that's a good thing.  She's a good Girl Scout and gymnast who would try to have her own web show if she could work it all..

Linking up with Memories Captured with Alison and Galit.

Aw, what a complete set of personalities you got there, mama! And every one of your children is awesome! Looks like big brother is turning to be such a gentleman, and sister will be the life of any party hee hee... Love how you've captured your children's individuality in those two pictures!

your kiddos are adorable!!! I love those pictures, but I love the words and personality they give us, the glimpses they gave me into the wonderful "PEOPLE" they are. YEA. I also love to see a boy who loves to sing etc, my Jacob is so creative that this makes me happy and hopeful for the coming years. :)

He found them online - there are you tube videos of kids showing you each fold, you should have yours try it. I don't know what it is about legos either but I'm always stepping on the dang things...

Thanks! Welcome to a lot of breathing like Vader in your future!

Beautiful children! My son is also in Star Wars (yuck) and Diary of a Wimpy Kid. I guess they're boy things!

He also talks Star Wars to me like I have any clue what the difference is between a wing fighter and a star fighter..

These photos capture their personalities just as you describe them!

Karin said...

You found a great way to point out their different personalities, in the picture itself and in your words that go with them. My tot is still to young for Star Wars (I'm quite happy about that :-) ), but he loves his LEGOs. I hope he will for many years to come.

Katie E said...

Love both of these - I see some similarities to my kids, too! I have had two gymnastics girls. And a Diary of a Wimpy Kid lover.

CoffeeLovinMom said...

Thanks Debbie - even as babies it was like night and day...my husband went so far as to ask if there was something wrong with our daughter when we brought her home - he just didn't realize how good we had it with the big brother.

CoffeeLovinMom said...

I really do too - she's really gonna be keeping us on our toes..

CoffeeLovinMom said...
