Things I Have Done

To compliment last week's Writer's Workshop of 22 things I've Never Done, I will share 22 things I actually have done at the brink of 40.

  1. Gone a day without coffee.  I think.
  2. Been Skydiving. Twice.
  3. Seen the Eiffel Tower at night.
  4. Conquered Lake Michigan. Well, my husband gets the credit for the conquering part, I just survived.
  5. Traveled by boat down the Mosel River in Germany.
  6. Cried at an episode of Full House while I was pregnant.
  7. Watched a dear friend be defeated by cancer in a matter of weeks.
  8. Watched the first 10 years of my son's life fly by already.
  9. Been held up at gunpoint, in my own driveway.
  10. Eaten a gourmet meal.
  11. Seen the inside of one of the most haunted castles in Ireland.
  12. Cried myself to sleep.
  13. Observed how the other half lives up close and personal.
  14. Tried pigeon - it wasn't that great.
  15. Been a pre-school teacher.
  16. Walked out in the middle of a (stupid) movie.
  17. Been to woodstock.
  18. Felt unconditional love.
  19. Peed my pants on numerous occasions.
  20. Cried at an episode of Roseanne while I wasn't pregnant.
  21. Celebrated my husband's birthday in France.
  22. Raced against a Mustang GT - and kicked it's ass.

This post is linked for Mama Kat's Writer's Workshop.

That race was back in my rebellion days, I did have a cool Malibu with a big engine..I usually have the peeing problem when I'm trying to get in the door..

The Mosel is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. We didn't take a boat but the drive was spectacular and the wine was great. While at te Eiffel Tower we got in the wrong line and had to take the stairs. My wife carried the two kids up to the second level... For my part I did carry a stroller that, by the time I am 50 and have told this story 100 times, will be a giant double stroller. It was a small stroller but there was a backpack too. Anyway it was very cool seeing the tower lit up. I wish I had my blog back then. I gotta get these stories written down.

You've been held up at gunpoint too? That gives me chills and brings back so many memories.

I am so jealous of you seeing the Eiffel Tower. That is definitely on my bucket list.

What car where you driving when you beat the Mustang? What a great list...I've also eaten pigeon. It's a delicacy here in France, I also don't think it's that great.

I was driving a 1978 Chevy Malibu with a 350 engine - best and first car I had. We tried pigeon in Ireland..it was served cold and I just couldn't get past that it was pigeon...ew

My brother tried pigeon while he was in China and he said it was oily and disgusting. And? Totally jealous you've gone skydiving. I would love to do that!
