Of Halloween Past...

Remember when all the costumes had masks?  I can still smell and almost taste the inside just looking at this...

This Halloween was well before my time being my dad's brother and cousin, it's from the 60's but so timeless and sweet I just had to share!
Have a great Saturday and a safe Halloween!

Plus, some of those, if not all of them were homemade. Sometimes I wonder while they still have costume contests these days.

Oh I remember all too well! That built up 'breathing moisture' on the inside of that mask that made you overheat even if it was freezing out! Lol

Wow...I was just looking at these masks!! I remember them as a kid...(aging myself) but more like 70s for me. I wish I saved a bunch! I love 'em!

Ew the breathing moisture - was that part of the smell in there?

Right, very few now are home made - and I don't think we get crowds quite like that.

This picture is the epitome of halloween for me even though it was before my time..it would be great to share these with our kids - I love it too!

And the plastic masks at that!! They were still around when I was a kid in the 80's although I haven't seen them in a long time!

Absolutely adorable costumes. They used to be less expensive, too. My kid was a "Batarina" this year to the tune of $30.00. Crazy!

Masks completely freak me out!

I'm sure they were deemed unsafe after years of children licking the inside of them...there must have been a reason they got rid of them

I hear you! I also had one of those plus a Luke Skywalker outfit which required a $10 light saber he didn't end up using...I'm really thinking next year we do them home made

I would have never guessed that.. feathers must make them unfreaky - how much did you love the clowns?
