52 Weeks of Happiness - Week 18

We have made it part of our summer family tradition to make at least one Railcats game if not a good handful.  The tickets are way cheaper than any pro game and at this point, the kids don't really know the difference.

The Railcats are a minor league out of Gary, Indiana and the kids love the whole thing, the cheering, the snacks, the dancing, the singing Take Me Out to the Ballgame in the seventh inning and of course running the bases at the end of the game, which my daughter came in third running in her flip flops!

Their ultimate favorite part by far are the mascots that are a couple of crazy cats named Rusty and Rascal who have a great time competing against each other between innings and playing tricks on each other.

Also they like to ham it up!

Each of the kids acquired a ball at the last game we went to over the holiday weekend - one has only Rusty's autograph and the other has only Rascal's if that says anything about their love of mascots...my daughter also wanted to know if Rusty was wearing his underpants.

I'm linked up with Leigh vs. Laundry for 52 Weeks of Happiness

What a cute idea and I'm sure more economical than a major league game!

The minor leagues are so much fun. My husband and I had season tickets for a few years and I can't wait til Piggles is old enough to go.

My nephews are big into baseball. Their dad coaches so we hear about it all the time. I can't wait to bring my girls to a game. My oldest has only done a soccer game. In Canada, we love hockey! My American hubby is a true lover of Soccer, basketball and college football. We're all over the place with what we like :P
