10 Things - The Don't Edition From Life's Little Instruction Book

Today I bring you the DON'T Edition from Life's Little Instruction Book:

  1. Resist the temptation to put a cutesy message on your answering machine.  (do people still do this?)
  2. Avoid negative people.
  3. Don't expect others to listen to your advice and ignore your example.
  4. Steer clear of restaurants that rotate.
  5. Never admit at work that you're tired, angry or bored.
  6. Don't carry a grudge. (It only hurts you after all)
  7. Don't make the same mistake twice.
  8. Don't worry that you can't give your kids everything.  Give them your very best.
  9. Don't forget, a person's greatest emotional need is to feel appreciated.
  10. Resist telling people how something should be done.  Instead, tell them what needs to be done.  They will often surprise you with creative solutions.

Now go tell someone you appreciate them, just not the negative ones...

If I'm tried/angry/bored at work, it's hard to hide it. Shouting EFF YOU while yawning and rolling my eyes is fairly obvious.

LOL, I remember way back when, freshman year of college, when my roommate and I spent huge amounts of time devising cutesy answering machine messages...
