Slimdown for Summer - Fitness Challenge - YAY for the Half Way Point

Here I am at the start of week 5 of the
Slimdown for Summer Challenge hosted by
Michelle over at Fun on a Dime

Half way through - WOO HOO!!

I am so glad that I found this fitness challenge - I really seem to be at the right place at the right time here lately..Anywho, it's been a bit of a feat keeping up with the 45 points that can be earned each week in this challenge as the closest I've gotten in the first four weeks is 38. I keep having this issue with the weekend being when I let loose when if I would just cut back I would quit defeating my own purpose. The water points are coming easier since the 96oz water week challenge and I find myself often drinking more than 70oz most days and I seem to be running out of bottled water earlier and earlier each week.

That being said, I have to say if the points were about pounds or inches, I might be doing better. You can see my results and progression of measurements and weight-loss if you CLICK HERE. I joined a gym two weeks prior to starting this challenge so have measured twice since starting my routine on March 23 and will continue to measure every two weeks until my gym membership is up.

As of today, I have been a member at the gym for 41 days and have done 21 classes and a handful of brisk walks on the dreadmill.  I also stepped it up this past week as the Slimdown for Summer Fitness Challenge bonus points for this week were to try some new form of exercise that you haven't before (or in a long time) so I switched from the dreadmill to the elliptical machine which had previously been mocking me and was able to to 20 minutes surprising even myself.  Not bad for a first timer I thought, considering after the first couple minutes I didn't think I would make it past 10.

I also took a fun class my gym calls Bottoms Up that my sister and I lovingly call A$$ class which is basically strength training through grueling demanding drills on the lower half of your body including a shitton of squats and grand plies, and pulsing, lots of least that's what I remember most about the class...again a big surprise the day after the class and I wasn't as sore as I thought I would be, a sign I'm doing something right.

Most importantly I am gaining personal points just feeling better about myself and more ready for summer clothes than I was six weeks ago so I must acknowledge myself for the progress that I have made this far even if I still can't fit back into my jeans...that day is coming soon.

Until then, I have enough workout clothes to keep me going!
