I Graduated into the Year 2010

I had the opportunity to take advantage of some free perks from Office Depot through work. They have been giving away items of $29 value with a qualifying order. Since I send in orders all the time being in an office, I took advantage of the MP3 player they were giving away!

The last electronic device I owned was a portable CD player with headphones (which I bought in 2004) so I am feeling extra privileged over here...

The real reason I wanted to share this story was not to brag - really what's to brag about an MP3 player - but to give you my lovely innocent children's reaction:

First - of course they wanted it for them!

As I am opening it, my daughter is asking to listen to it and my son keeps trying to touch it instead of doing his homework.

Second - They both suggested songs for me to put on it like "I Like to Move it, Move it" and the new ICarly song!

Third - and most innocently, my daughter asks:
"Mom, do you even know what to do with an MP3 player?"

Now, this from a teenaged daughter would have come across sarcastically in every way possible. This darling, sweet 5 year old was asking me honestly!

Am I really that old? Am I really THAT far out of the loop?
I didn't think I was...

I was wondering why the cord to the headphones was uneven though..I hope mine's not defective or anything! Glad to know they still label the headphones so I knew which ear to put them in - ha.

BTW - uploaded 191 songs in that puppy tonight and will be enjoying it on the train ride in the morning so I'm not as electronically challenged as my children think I am! I did notice that most of the songs were 90's or earlier - hmmm.

LOL fabulous story!! Don't worry I always feel like we are the last to have anything new out of all of our friends. We are just cheap and refuse to pay the crazy prices that everything starts out at!

Congrats on the free mp3 that is a fantastic deal!!

Be proud, CLM! I begged for an i-pod for Christmas yet and haven't done a thing with it. I keep procrastinating. Maybe I'll be inspired to get moving now.
